M.J Modern Music guitar lessons and private tuition
Our guitar lessons specialise in learning contemporary, fun music that children know and love. We focus on learning different techniques, melodies, chords and rhythms using examples from some of today's leading music artists as well as classic songs from the 20th century. Our enthusiastic guitar tutors have inspired children to not only learn the guitar but pursue personal goals in music. Whether it be mastering a favourite song or starting their very own band.
Pupils have performance assessments at the end of every term and the opportunity to perform in school assemblies in groups or playing solo pieces. Our lessons and performances have proven to help encourage children in other areas of study as well as helping with confidence and boosting self esteem.
Some of the things children learn
- The basics including picking, strumming, timing, simple melodies
- How to read music, TAB and song structures
- Enticing examples from modern contemporary music (Rock, Pop, Jazz, Blues, Electro, Chart music)
- Pupils are given the opportunity to write and even perform their own compositions
